Workshop
World-music workshop directed by Dolf Pleiter
This orchestra consists of advanced amateur-musicians. The repertoire is simple Latin-American, African (Senegal and Zaire) as well as Balkan- and Klezmer-music (Big band setting). For example: bolero, cha-cha-cha, son-montuno, mambo, cumbia, calypso, merengue, kaseko, bomba and rumba. All the musical-arrangements are by Dolf himself. During the rehearsals special attention is given to: timing, dynamics, balance, tuning and communication while playing simple exercises. Within these arrangements there is room for improvisation.
There is room for: drums, percussion, bass, piano, accordeon, guitar (just one of each instrument) and saxophone, trumpet and tuba. For other instruments contact Dolf. Participants have to be able to read music, have a reasonable sense of rhythm and have to be motivated.

Jazz jam-session 21.00h - 1.00h
Jam-sessions for beginners from 21.00 hours. The session is not conducted by anyone at this moment. The repertoire consists mainly of known jazz-standards.

Old style disco 23.00 hours - 3.00 hours
You can rent this night as well as Sunday.
It's disco, no live-music (no jazz either). You can dance to the music from another century! Music from the time when mono was ordinary and stereo high-tech. DJ Hans has the difficult task to entertain you with the best of all styles (not only mainstream!) from the good old day's. You can help him by bringing your favorite (dance-able) records!
Concerned about your tooth-caps? No, we don't have black-light!
